Weddings have different themes to evoke different feelings and imagery of the bride and groom. As such weddings also bring different energies with it. Fantasy to Reality Bridal Services collaborated with Avanelle Boyce of Callaloo Culture, for a productive partnership. Avanelle is known for her keen sense in capturing the moments that excite and elude us through her photography. In this particular segment, we teamed up with her, as her current project involved photography of historical sites throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Fantasy to Reality quickly seized the opportunity to be a part of this experience as this could be beneficial to our clients when selecting venues for their wedding engagement shoot, and also beneficial to Callaloo Culture as our clients can see their work, style and portfolio. They may even request their services as a professional photographer for their wedding! They are that good! In this blog we will showcase just a few venues as well as the photograph
The First Step: You want to familiarize yourself with wedding gown silhouettes prior to going shopping. Bridal gown silhouettes fall into six broad categories as we have posted on our FB page and blog. They are ball gown, empire, A-line, sheath, fit-and-flare, and mermaid. Try on one of each the first time you go shopping for your gown — it will quickly become apparent which works best for your shape. Selecting the silhouette you want to wear will help narrow down the search and endless options available. From there, you can decide on other criteria, such as neckline, sleeves, embellishments and all the fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe Second Step: Color Makes a Difference
ReplyDeleteAnother element that will get you feeling confident and beautiful is the color of your dress. Just as silhouette enhances your shape, the hues of the fabric can do the same for your colouring.
Dresses these days vary greatly in terms of color, from a brighter white to a creamy ivory to even bold pink. The right color can nicely accentuate and complement your skin tone. For example, whiter dresses may wash out those with fair skin, so those brides might look for something with a warmer ivory tone. Be sure to try on multiple shades of white or even color to see what looks and photographs best on you. Also, look at it in both natural light and in indoor lighting, as the lighting will change how the dress color looks.
The Third Step: Be You!
ReplyDeleteRemember, your dress needs to represent you. Start by putting your best look forward during shopping. If you feel your best in flat ironed hair, light makeup or clear lip gloss and flats, then go for it. Finding your dream dress and buying it is an emotional decision, so you should shop feeling like the best version of you. This way, you can truly assess how you feel in the gowns. It will also help you picture how you’ll look in the dress on the big day.
Once you’re at the salon, stay true to yourself by considering what fashion you lean toward on a daily basis. If you like clean lines and solids, look for a minimalist gown, or if you love quirky, retro styles, head straight for vintage-inspired designs. Listen to your inner style and voice, which can also mean limiting the opinions. Confining the entourage to one or two trusted pals or family members with great taste. But you still want someone to point out that puffy sleeves are a thing of the past. In the end, it is your gown, so stick to your gut and feelings.
